Become A Volunteer!

LOCC is a registered not-for-profit, 501(C)(3) charitable organization. Not funded by any government or religious body, we depend on the generosity of our donors and the work of our volunteers to accomplish our mission of helping others. Our volunteers perform a variety of tasks. To offer your services or find out more, call (423) 624-3222 or email us.

· Retail volunteers. Work the register and assist customers in our thrift store. Training provided. Morning or afternoon shifts. Minimum commitment of 3 hours per month.
·
· Stocking/pricing volunteers. Accept, sort, price and/or display items donated to our thrift store. Training provided. Minimum commitment of 3 hours per month, with flexibility in scheduling.

· Layette volunteer. Work with our layette team to make and/or purchase items to stock our layette baskets. Minimum commitment of 3 hours per month, with flexibility of scheduling and location of service. (Some of this work can be done at home.)

· Christmas Angel volunteer. Work with a committee to organize and distribute food vouchers and Christmas gifts for children. Seasonal commitment, with flexibility of scheduling and location of service. (Some of this work can be done at home.)

  Food Bank volunteer. Work with a team of LOCC volunteers once a week at Chattanooga Food Bank to pack emergency food boxes for the needy. Minimum commitment of 3 hours per month on Tuesdays only, with flexibility as to what Tuesday you will work. Location of service is Chattanooga Food Bank (add link to Food Bank site) on Amnicola Highway near downtown Chattanooga.

· Hospitality/Spiritual Life volunteer. Work with a committee to plan LOCC's periodic general membership meetings and meaningful activities that help keep us focused on our charitable mission.
